I make an award-winning podcast about Armenia. I write - poetry, journalism and some things in between. I bring together creative communities.

Nyree Abrahamian is a Canadian-Armenian poet and creative producer who lives in Yerevan. She produces Country of Dust, Armenia’s first narrative podcast, which has been featured in The Guardian, on CBC Radio, KQED and PRX. Nyree co-founded the Tumanyan International Storytelling Festival and is co-author of Artsakh: A Taste of Home, a book of stories and recipes. Her poems are published in Mizna, Poetry Northwest, Protean Magazine, and Nimrod International Journal, among others.

As a freelance writer, Nyree has written extensively for the HALO Trust, on assignments in Ukraine and Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as for UNICEF and other nonprofits. Prior to her work in storytelling and community-building, Nyree was an educational program designer and taught at the American University of Armenia. She holds an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from Harvard University, and applies her sensibilities as an educator to her creative work.
